I need God.
I need Him to give me patience.
I need Him to help me be kind.
I need Him to direct my thoughts.
I need Him to help me choose my priorities.
I need Him to help me understand His word.
I need Him to show me the next step and walk beside me as I take it.
I need Him to calm my anger.
I need Him to close my mouth when it’s threatening to spew nasty words.
I need Him to ease my frustration and replace it with peace.
I need Him to remind me the mundane tasks of my daily routine can bring Him glory.
I need Him to make me better.
I need God. In so many ways.
And I’m so grateful that He will meet all my needs. Not by magically making me the perfect parent or spouse or friend. But He meets all my needs by teaching me, being present in my struggles, and bringing me closer to Him every time I call out in desperate need of His help.
Because of His help, I am becoming a better person despite my failures. Any good in me comes from Him—to God be the glory.
God, I need You. I need You every minute of my day. Thank You for being there every time I call Your name. Even in the moments I’m too stubborn or distracted to ask for help, You are there because You’ve promised never to leave me or forsake me. Thank You for meeting my needs and never giving up on me.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
*Want to join me in meditating on God’s Word this week? Save these words as your lock screen. Write them on a notecard and place them somewhere you’ll see them during your day. Throughout the week, recite them to your kids, your spouse, or a friend. When we focus on His word, He will use it to produce results in our lives.
