For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)
Which name of Jesus are you needing?
Are you seeking Him as the Wonderful Counselor? Are you praying for His wisdom and guidance as you face a decision? Are you weighing pros and cons while trying to predict future effects? Give it to the One who already knows. Trust in His counsel and obey His calling.
Are you looking to the Mighty God to work in impossible ways? Are you praying to the One who was mighty enough to raise Lazarus from the dead, turn water into wine, make the deaf hear and the mute speak? Are you needing comfort from the Lord who is mighty enough to move mountains, hold you through the roughest storms, and overcome death to offer you salvation?
Are you faced with the reality of earthly limitations and long for the Everlasting Father? A God who knows no limits, not even death. The Creator present in the beginning and the Father who knows no end. Our temporal minds cannot even understand this infinite God, but He is present and desires to spend eternity with us.
Are you clinging to the Prince of Peace? The world around you is spinning out of control. Surrounded by turmoil and uncertainty, you long for a peace the world cannot offer. A peace that calms your heart in the midst of chaos. Our God doesn’t just offer peace, He IS peace—peace that surpasses all understanding.
I don’t know your needs, but God does. And no matter what you are looking for, you will find it in Him. May the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace fill your heart tonight. May He be exactly what you need.
